"Exposed" Headlines: What They Really Tell You
Dramatic titles such as "exposed" are built to win clicks, not to report a finding. Read past the headline for a named source, a date and a disclosed link to the seller. The FTC bans fake reviews, so a page with none of those is a poor guide.

The headline01
Why do review pages use words like exposed?
Because shock words get clicks, and clicks pay the page owner.
A headline with "exposed", "scam" or "truth" suggests inside knowledge. Often the page holds a recap of the sales page with a few warnings added. Some of these pages are written by affiliates who earn if you buy, and some by people who earn if you do not. This site earns a commission on order links, and it says so. We have no inside source and no customer file, so we claim none.
The useful question is not "what was exposed?" but "what can be checked?"
Read the first two paragraphs and the last two. If they only repeat the headline and push you to a buy button, the middle will likely do the same. A page that gives its limits, such as "we have not tested this," is more honest than one that gives only a verdict.
Decode it02
How do you read a dramatic review headline?
Match each type of headline to the proof it should come with.
| Headline says | Proof it should show | If it shows none |
|---|---|---|
| "Exposed" | A named document, filing or test | Treat as opinion |
| "Scam" | A dated, specific complaint trail | Treat as a guess |
| "Works wonders" | A trial on this product | Treat as an advert |
| "Real customers" | Verified purchases and a real person | Treat as unverified |
| "Doctors agree" | A named clinician and a source | Ignore it |
The FTC03
What does the FTC say about fake reviews?
Its rule bans several practices that make fake praise and fake attacks possible.
Fake testimonials
False or invented reviews, including fake celebrity ones, are banned 1.
Paid sentiment
Paying for a positive or negative review is covered by the same rule 1.
Hidden ties
Insider reviews without disclosure, and company sites posing as independent, are listed too 1.
Civil penalties can apply for knowing violations. The FDA also lists multiple rave reviews among the warning signs for products sold for health issues 2.

What can you do before you believe a page?
Run three small checks.
Find the evidence
Look for links to NIH, FDA or trial pages. See the is it legit page for what we found.
Find the money
Look for a plain note on commissions or sponsorship.
Find the person
A review with no named, checkable author has no accountability.
Where a page offers none of the three, close it.
