Flow Nerves Formula: Why One Proprietary Blend With No Milligrams Matters
Flow Nerves lists six ingredients as one proprietary blend and shows no milligram amounts in the material we have. That means you cannot tell how much of any one ingredient is in a capsule, or compare it with research doses.

Blends01
What is a proprietary blend?
It is a group of ingredients listed together under one name, with one combined weight and no separate amounts.
Brands use blends to protect a recipe, and sometimes to hide that a headline ingredient is present only in a small amount. Under 21 CFR 101.36 a blend should show its total weight and list its ingredients in order of weight 1. That order is the clue: the first name is the heaviest.
The brief gives the six names in this order: magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom root extract, L-carnitine, turmeric extract and coenzyme Q10. We cannot say the brief's order follows weight, because we saw no panel.
Safety02
Why does the missing dose matter for safety?
Because several cautions on these names depend on how much you take.
The adult upper limit for magnesium from supplements and medicines is 350 mg a day 2, and that limit is a number you can only check if you know the amount. Alpha lipoic acid can lower blood sugar 3, and turmeric products with high absorption have been linked to liver injury 4. L-carnitine causes stomach upset at around three grams a day or more 5. Without milligrams, you cannot place the capsule against any of those lines.
Flow Nerves is a dietary supplement, not a drug and not a neuropathy medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you take diabetes medicine or insulin, a blood thinner, blood pressure medicine, an antibiotic or any other prescription, if you have kidney or liver disease, or if you are pregnant, nursing or under 18. Keep taking prescribed medicine, and keep your checkups. See side effects and interactions.
Research doses03
What do studies use, next to what we cannot see?
This table puts the research amount for each name beside the amount we can read on the label, which is nothing.
| Name in the brief | Amount per capsule | Amount in research | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magnesium Glycinate | Not printed | The adult upper limit for magnesium from supplements and medicines is 350 mg a day | A needed mineral; a review links low magnesium with diabetic neuropathy, but supplement trials are not settled 2 6 7 |
| Alpha Lipoic Acid | Not printed | Short vein trials used 300 to 600 mg a day; the Cochrane review covers oral and other trials of at least six months | Cochrane 2024: probably little or no effect on symptoms at six months in diabetic neuropathy 3 8 9 |
| Butcher's Broom root extract | Not printed | Ruscus products were tested in chronic venous disease of the legs: 10 trials, 719 people, mostly mixed with other compounds | Studied for leg-vein symptoms; no source found on nerve damage 10 11 |
| L-Carnitine | Not printed | The nerve trials tested acetyl-L-carnitine, a different form, at up to 3,000 mg a day in some studies | Cochrane 2019: very uncertain whether acetyl-L-carnitine reduces pain; plain L-carnitine was not the form tested 12 5 13 |
| Turmeric Extract | Not printed | No dose tested for nerve comfort in the sources we read | NCCIH: not enough is known to conclude benefit for any purpose 4 14 15 |
| Coenzyme Q10 / Ubiquinone | Not printed | One 8-week trial in painful diabetic neuropathy used 100 mg three times a day, on top of pregabalin | One trial, in people with diabetes, added to a prescription drug 16 17 |
Studies often used much more than a single capsule could hold, or used another form or route. For example, the alpha lipoic acid trials that showed nerve signal changes used 300 to 600 mg a day by vein 9. One capsule of a blend of six ingredients cannot be assumed to reach those amounts.

What can you do about it?
- Ask the order desk for the full Supplement Facts panel before you buy, or read it on the bottle when it arrives.
- Ask for the blend's total weight and the amount per ingredient, or at least the order by weight.
- Show the panel to your pharmacist along with your medicine list.
- Treat any promise of an effective dose as unproven until you see the numbers.

Is a blend always a bad sign?
No. Blends are common and legal, and some are made well.
The problem is not the format. It is that a buyer cannot check anything, and this brand makes a nerve-support claim next to a blend with no amounts. That is a gap you can close by asking, so ask.
Compare with the claims on the benefits page, and read each name's page for what is known.
A clearer panel06
What would a clear panel look like, and how does this compare?
| Feature | Open label | Flow Nerves, from our files |
|---|---|---|
| Amount per ingredient | Printed in mg or mcg | Not printed |
| Blend total weight | Printed if a blend is used | Not seen |
| Order of names | Heaviest first | Six names in the brief's order; weight unknown |
| Extract strength | Printed per extract | Turmeric extract 95% curcuminoids, per the brief |
The comparison is not a verdict. It shows what you would have in hand with an open label, and what you do not have here.
The rule07
How did blend labeling come about?
Rules for blends on supplement labels grew out of a simple idea: buyers should be able to see what a label total is made of.
The regulation on the facts panel, 21 CFR 101.36, sets out how a dietary supplement label lists its ingredients, including the special case of a blend 1. It lets a company keep each amount private inside the blend while still printing the blend's total weight. That compromise is why a blend can look open and still hide the number you care about. The weight of the whole blend tells you the most you could have of any one name, which is why asking for it is useful.
FAQ08
Flow Nerves questions people ask
Does Flow Nerves list how many milligrams are in each capsule?
Not in the material we have. The brief names six ingredients in one proprietary blend and prints no milligrams.
Is a proprietary blend safe?
Safety depends on the ingredients and amounts, and the amounts are hidden. That is why we advise showing the panel to a pharmacist.
Why do supplement makers use blends?
Often to protect a recipe. Sometimes it also lets a small amount of a popular ingredient sit next to cheaper fillers, which is why asking for the weights matters.
How can I find the amounts for Flow Nerves?
Read your bottle's Supplement Facts panel, or ask the order desk on the contact page for the panel in writing.
What does 95% curcuminoids mean?
It describes the strength of the turmeric extract, the share of curcuminoids in it. It does not say how many milligrams of the extract are in a capsule.
Could the ingredients be in tiny amounts?
We cannot tell, and neither can you, without the panel. That is the core problem with a blend that shows no weights.
Can a pharmacist tell me whether the blend is safe for me?
A pharmacist can check each named ingredient against your medicines. They will need the full panel with amounts, so ask the seller for it first.
